Talsarnau.

The village of Talsarnau, situated five miles to the north of Harlech, is set on the shore of the Dwyryd estuary and overlooks the Italianate village of Portmeirion. The area abounds in wildlife and whilst walking in the foothills of the Harlech dome you can drink in the unsurpassed views of Snowdon and the Snowdonia range as well as marveling at the coastal scenery of Porthmadog Bay and the Lleyn Peninsular.

The village grew from the 18th century after completion of the embankment, which cut off the sea from the lands between Harlech Castle and the Dwyryd estuary, a distance of some 5 miles.

The area boasts two hotels, one motel, one vegetarian hotel, one guest house together with two public houses, offering guests a whole range of accommodation within the stunningly beautiful area surrounding the village of Talsarnau.
