Llanfair

Llanfair is situated roughly one mile south of Harlech. The original village was a cluster of stone built houses around the church, this part of the village is most attractive. Behind the village hall is a pleasant field dotted with mature chestnut trees, which makes an ideal spot for small children to play and parents to relax .

There are plenty of walks around the village. A public footpath meanders down between thick stone walls and through the fields to Llandanwg beach. The famous zig zag path goes down the side of the cliff to the magnificent expanse of sand at Harlech. Above this path is a National Trust field, sitting here to enjoy the sunset is an unforgettable experience.

On the outskirts of the village is Cae Cethin Farm. The old slate caverns on it's land have been open to the public for around 30 years. Sean Connery and Richard Gere filmed here.
